franaraeThis space evolves to be whatever I need it to be at this moment. 2月2日 Long time no read. I know, I haven't been here in a while. My mom was even calling me from Alabama,"I just wanted to check and make sure everything is okay since you haven't updated your blog." I love you mom.
I'm in college now. I am finishing my degree. I'm going for a bachelors of science in environmental studies. I have about two more years to finish, but depending on how long it takes me to get through the math (my unskilled area) it might take longer. I went to college years ago and aquired quite a few credits already, but struggled with math.
Okay, well, when I think of anything interesting I'll be back to write some more.
Ta Ta, I'm off to visit yous guyses blogs.
12月18日 snow No school today because of the snow. Abe and Eza seemed to know that somehow, and usually they are up and ready before anyone else. Grace, however, who sometimes oversleeps, was up and yelling at everyone to get up or they'd be late. I turned on the radio and heard the no school news and told her.
Since I didn't get chains yet, I'm stuck at home. 12月10日 proofreading, fingernails award, tornadoe and alligators I just finished proofreading my son Abe's senior culminating project paper for the fourth time. 16 pages long. If I will feel relieved when he finishes this project, I can imagine how he must feel.
I quit biting my fingernails. None of my kids seem to really care, even though I keep sticking my fingers in front of their faces saying, "Look, no chewed nails!!" They don't even look but say, "that's nice , mom." with a glassy stare. "What, I just want some recognition here! Maybe an award or something, geez!"
My mom called me from FLA> That's where they have currently parked their traveling house. She said they had a tornadoe warning recently. She grew up in tornadoe country.. OK. So she knew when she was a little girl in OK they said if you can't get to a shelter, lay down in a ditch. She doesn't know what to do in FLA since the ditches are full of alligators. But she said maybe she could get in a safe place by pretending she was going to lay in a ditch with the alligators because they would come arrest her since its illegal to harrass the alligators and then she'd be safe in jail from the tornadoe. Sounds like a good plan, mom. 12月3日 I made a young guy blush today. I was in Swain's general store looking for a pastry cutter/pastry blender/doughblender/dough cutter, it has many different names but can't be found. I saw a friend of mine who cares for severely mentally handicapped adults, and she had a young man of about twenty with her who was handicapped. I said hello to them and asked the young man if he was enjoying christmas shopping. He can't speak but he blew me a kiss! and I said thank you and I blew one back. He then turned bright blush red and had the sweetest smile. That made my day. 11月29日 boredom cure Grace has a friend staying over tonight. They were complaining of being bored and wanted to go somewhere. I told the girls I would take them for a drive to look at Christmas lights if they picked up stuff in Grace's room. After they picked up a bit we got in the car and drove around looking for christmas lights. Not too many houses had any up yet. The girls were disappointed. So I put on White Zombie, scary sounding music, while we were driving around. Then I asked them, "Hey, girls, you want to go to the cemetary?" "Yeahhhh!" They both said.
It doesn't have to be halloween to get creeped out. I drove down the dark road to the cemetary. It's the same road that goes to the dump, which I think is Ironic. Still listening to Rob Zombie. I pulled the car up to the entrance which had the steel cable across the opening so I couldn't drive further in. When we got out I told the girls to be careful of the wire and step over it. It was so dark we couldn't even see the wire. We took a walk in the cemetary, down the road that winds through it. We could see the lights on the Mausoleum illuminating the shadows behind the tombstones. Grace and her friend were holding hands, huddled together, walking, and they kept looking behind them. I said," Something back there?" and Grace's friend said, "No, just checking." Ha ha. So I knew they already had the weeby jeebies, primed for a good scare. We walked further and I said, "What's that!?" And the girls stopped and took in a breath. Then I turned around and started running toward the car, haha! So the girls were holding hands and running too, in front of me. They were good and scared. But I remembered the wire and said,"Watch out for the wire!" and just as I said wire they both tripped over it. I ran up and was asking," Are you okay?! Are you okay!?" They were both laughing so hard they couldn't answer. We got into the car and went home. On the way home the girls were animated and talking excitedly, saying, "I almost peed myself!" "I know, me too!" When we got home they went in the bathroom to clean the mud off and realised they had scraped their knees. So told them to wash them and put neosporin on them. Well I think they'll be okay, and they aren't bored anymore. 11月25日 not much I've been doing laundry and phone calls this morning. I'm taking Grace to her dentist appointment at 1. I've got to get the rest of the apples picked off of our tree today.
I bought a vise grip corer peeler slicer for the apples. I've used it a bit and it works pretty good. The kids like the contraption, and they want to eat apples just so they can peel them on the thing.
I'm going to make a bunch of apple pies for Thanksgiving. I'm taking the pies to my sisters houses; we're going by both of their homes on Thanksgiving.
Ezra's birthday is coming up.. Dec 1st. I've already gotten all of his birthday presents bought. It was hard to find heroscape pieces since that game is now no longer produced. I got him a few sets of playing pieces, and then some other stuff. Ezra and I played Heroscape last night and he beat me for the first time ever. I don't know why I've been so lucky at that game. Ezra usually beats everyone he plays, but had played me a lot and never beat me until now.
I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving!
11月16日 School and stuff. I did a ton of laundry today; let's see, a ton is 2000 lbs, so that seems about right, I maybe did a little bit more than that but it's close enough. I packed several garbage bags full of stuff to go to charity so there will be less laundry, hopefully, in the future. That was what my day was all about though... washing, drying, folding, putting away, saying,"You better not just dump that clean laundry of yours I folded on your bedroom floor!"
Tomorrow is no school, so Grace is having a friend stay overnight. There was no school friday either, because it's school conference time here. I went to Grace's conference on Thursday night. I met with all her teachers. Her math teacher and I discussed how gifted Grace is in math and its a shame she won't apply herself. She gets A's on her tests but won't do homework so her grade is brought down. She is able to scoot by and pass for now but I am afraid if she doesn't start doing her homework she will not learn the material and will fail. But her math teacher told me something good; he said the day before the conference he was showing the kids in class how to do something and Grace raised her hand and said she knew another way to do that and asked could she show everyone. He let her come up and show everyone on the board and it turns out her way is much easier and the kids all use her way. The teacher was very pleased about this. Grace's math teacher let me take an extra math book to keep here at home so that Grace will not be able to say she can't do her homework because she doesn't have her book. Grace was outraged about it when she saw I had brought a book to keep at home! Ha ha!
Tomorrow I have Abe's and Ezra's conferences up at the highschool. 11月5日 DING DONG HE"S ALMOST GONE!!!This morning when I awoke I had this very happy song going through my head, Ding dong the witch is dead" from the Wizard of Oz, but instead it sang,"ding dong Bush is almost gone." I feel as happy as a munchkin!!! 11月3日 vote! haunted house;hair cuts;etc. I mailed my ballot a few days ago, and I will drop Abe's off for him tomorrow in the drop box. I gave Abe the voter's pamplet and told him how to look up the initiatives and candidates. After he had filled his out and sealed it, and I had already mailed mine, we talked about how we voted on the issues and it turns out we voted the same. This wouldn't happen with my oldest son Zac, because his political views are exact opposite from mine.
I took the girls, Grace and her friend, to the haunted house on halloween night. I tried to film it, but since they did not allow flashes in the haunted house it was too dark to see anything. I used the night setting on my camera but it didn't help at all. The girls got enthusiastically scared and I really enjoyed it. It made me wonder if this is some kind of passive aggression coming out of me, that I enjoy taking my daughter to the haunted house and watching her shriek in fear. Well, she is quite a little monster herself sometimes. And it wouldn't be fun for me if she were truly scared and cried or something. But she kept threatening to kick the scary guys in the haunted house in the balls, and I think she scared the scary guys.
Today I took my boys to get their hair cut. That was expensive! My clippers are not working, so I thought I woould just take them in to a shop. I need to get new clippers! I think I could have bought a new pair for how much it cost to get their hair cut today.
Then I took Ezra shoe shopping. He's not very decisive, so I pick out a few pairs and say, "which ones do you like best, Ezra?" And he found a pair he liked.
Then I came home and made a delicious dinner for my grateful brood. And they actually thanked me before I reminded them to.
Oh, wait, I forgot the best part of my day...this morning, before Zac had a chance to leave if he suspects chores, I said, "No one is leaving this house until ALL the dishes are done!!"" So I had the kids all four take turns washing until all of the dishes were done. Just to tell you how many dirty dishes there were...four kids did two loads of dishes each.
To all my girlfriends:turn on your speakers and check out this link, it's hilarious!!!:
